Immigration Law Reform

It is possible to pass comprehensive immigration reform within Obama’s first or second year Congress needs to realize that our economic woes are directly linked with our workforce, and our workforce is made up of immigrants (both legal and illegal).

Obama has stated that America has nothing to fear from today’s immigrants. Immigrants hope that in America, they will build better lives for their families. Like the many immigrants that came before them and the Hispanic Americans whose families have been here for generations, the recent arrival of Latino immigrants will enrich America.

The president also said that getting new immigration laws passed will be difficult. Because the U.S. economy is in worse shape than two and three years ago, when immigration bills failed in Congress, he said it would be even more difficult to pass immigration reform now.

However, Obama suggested that pro-immigrant organizations to propose ideas on how to pass the reform through Congress. Also, before concentrating on immigration reform, he will focus on improving the system for legal immigration.

Since Obama took office, and in the middle of the economic crisis, pro-immigrant advocates have been waiting to hear concrete news from the White House on when the administration will begin to move forward on immigration reform. During his presidential campaign, Obama had said he would address the issue during his first year in office.

Economic difficulties cannot be solved without tackling the immigration problems like increasing work visa and legalizing the undocumented workforce. These immigrants contribute enormously to our economy by spending in our consumer market as well as contributing their skills and labor. PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO. On 9.12.2009, we went to Washington DC to document the Tea Party protests against, well, a lot of things, including health insurance reform, the IRS, abortion, global warming, and our “socialist/communist/fascist/Nazi/Muslim” president, Barack Obama. Some of them called for a return to McCarthyism, while others called for Glenn Beck to run for office–indeed, it seemed the only thing that everyone agreed on was Fox News. A NOTE ON CZARS: Some users have pointed out that White House “Czars” existed long before Ronald Reagan. As it turns out, Donald Nelson, appointed under FDR as a “Wartime Production Czar”, was the first. The Republican Gov. of Colorado, John A. Love, was later appointed under Nixon as an “Energy Czar”. We appreciate this correction, though such an oversight does not dilute our point. The current outcry against Czars is merely alarmist propaganda perpetuated by Glenn Beck and the rest of the right-wing media. JOIN OUR HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA NOW! Special Economic Zone

Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are specific geographical regions that have economic laws different from and more liberal than a country’s typical economic laws. The goal is usually an increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country.

There is a clear understanding that a well-implemented and designed SEZ can bring about many desired benefits for a host-country: increases in employment, FDI attraction, general economic growth, foreign exchange earnings, international exposure, and the transfer of new technologies and skills. Hence, many developing countries are also developing the SEZs with the expectation that they will provide the engines of growth for their economies to achieve industrialization. But for this to be successful their governments need to enact legislation, create a focused administrative infrastructure to govern special economic zones, offer highly attractive incentives and locate zones in the best possible locations. Overall investment climate (infrastructure, governance) in a country matters in the success of its special economic zones in terms of competitiveness.

One of the earliest and the most famous Special Economic Zones were founded by the government of the People’s Republic of China under Deng Xiaoping in the early 1980s. The most successful Special Economic Zone in China, Shenzhen, has developed from a small village into a city with a population over 10 million within 20 years. Following the Chinese examples, Special Economic Zones have been established in several other countries.

In the face of fierce regional competition, South Korea is also showing strong economic performance and can boast a highly skilled labor force. It has started working strategically towards attracting investment, including the establishment of its first special economic zone, called The Incheon Special Economic Zone and so look set to transform the country into a regional hub from which foreign companies can expand into other parts of Asia.

The Incheon special economic zone in the north revolves around the international airport, the creation of an international financial services district and Songdo’s “intelligent city”, which will include a 60-storey world trade centre, 60 office buildings, deluxe hotels, shopping malls and a golf course, due to be completed by 2008.

These economic zones are a strategy to make Korea (http://korea.ixs.net/) more attractive in the eyes of foreign investors and to draw them to the country.

The project includes a technology complex to house research centers and venture start-ups alongside the Korean Institute of Technology. Two more complexes, for biotechnology and for knowledge and information will be built by 2008.

These projects, which have high-level political backing, are supported by a package of generous financial incentives. Other incentives include simplified administrative procedures, heavily subsidized land leases on government owned land, tax breaks and linguistic support.

Situated directly between Japan and China, South Korea is at the centre of a vast Asian market with a total population of two billion, including 500 million in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, with which, along with China and Japan, Korea enjoys a special commitment to economic cooperation. North-east Asia alone accounts for about 24% of the world’s population and 19% of global production.

South Korea’s gateway strategy is designed to leverage its geographic and geocultural advantages while offering a new, friendly business face to potential investors in the form of SEZs in the southern part of the peninsula. Foreigners, foreign companies, and international economic organizations can be involved in free corporate activities in these economic zones offering a range of special advantages, including tax, labor, regulatory and other incentives.

South Korea is a cheaper location than Japan and more straightforward from a regulatory point of view than China, having opened its markets decades ago.

Generally, it is argued that the special economic zone concept is attractive because it is much easier to resolve the problems of infrastructure and governance on a limited geographical area than it is to resolve them countrywide. Such economic zones cannot be insulated from the broader institutional and economic context of the country and be treated as an economy within the economy. Zones are a part of the economy and require overall improvement in the investment climate to ensure success in the long run. They should not, therefore, be viewed as an alternative to the overall development model. This is perhaps the reason why SEZs failed to fulfill the role of engines of industrialization in most countries on a sustainable basis.

Every single year, the Federal Government hands out over 160 billion dollars in Government funded grants. They give them out to both individuals and businesses to boost business growth and opportunity and to assist individuals in raising funds for their educational or other personal goals.

However the high amount of grant programs available to people, they still find it difficult to find grants to apply for. The grant system can be cumbersome and overwhelming to some. There is now a website dedicated to helping you understand the application process in securing government funded grants, it is called www.grants.gov. You can search the website by category, agency or overall grant available to people and businesses. The site can still be difficult to maneuver, but if you pay attention, you will find a lot of government funded grants.

www.cfda.gov, The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance

After you locate the grants that you want to apply for, it is recommended to contact the organization funding the grant and verify the specifics of the grant and their application process. You never want to apply for a grant based on out of date information.

Political Parties in India have lost grounds

The people of India shall be facing difficulties in casting their votes in general elections of 2009 because all the political parties and alliances have got no point with them with which they shall be approaching the voters and getting their votes.  The BJP had a point with them and that point-Hindutiva has lost grounds because the Hindus are with Congress too and very few Hindus shall be casting votes to the BJP because they know that if Hindutva comes to India, the Muslims, the Sikhs, the Christians shall not be happy and they shall start separation movements and then there shall be disturbance in India.  Peace is the final target of the voters of India because if peace is there, they shall go ahead and if there is disturbance, they shall not go ahead.

There is an other movement and some people are planning to have a third front.  If they want that as third front be formed, they should try to unit the Dalits, the Sikhs, The Muslims and the Christians and if Communists too join with them, they shall form a strong third front and once they are established on throne, then the whole future shall be with them.  But here too the Lefts who are not one shall be hesitating with the Sikhs, the Muslims and the Christians and if they join with them, they shall not acceptable to others because they do not believe in God and the people who do not believe in God shall not be acceptable in India..

Therefore, the people of India shall be facing a difficulty this time because none of the parties who had been ruling India could solve the problems of the people of India.  They are still illiterate, they are still unemployed, they are still poor, they are still without suitable living accommodation, they are still beggars, they are not in a position to send their small children to schools, they are still wearing rags, they are still starving and in spite of all efforts made so far, the government could not write off these problems of the people of India.

This time too the political parties and alliances are not giving to the people of India some methods with which the political parties and alliances shall be writing off these problems of the people of India.

Time is still with the parties and alliances and they must come forward with some points which they shall follow during the coming tenure.  If they want, they must induct some experts and with their help they must draw policies and those policies be placed before the people.  And at the same time the people of India must come forward with points which could give new directions to the political parties.  The people are masters of this country and therefore it is their duty to bring out the points for the help of the governing parties.  Something should be done this time, because the people of India have already wasted about six decades under the slogans given by the political parties and this time the parties shall give wrong slogans to the people to get their votes.  Therefore, this time all must try to come forward with new outlook and at least they must stop wasting time from this general elections.

I had stopped the comments on this video for many reasons, for example: racist rants, death threats, calling out for murder, accusing me of things that are just not true (as if you liberals somehow have ESP and know what I am all about.) Get over yourselves! Thanks to all the people who do get it, you are out there, keep spreading accurate information as most of us can agree we are not being shown the truth. 1. I did not create this video, buckrush wanted everyone to spread this video, buckrush’s account has been closed since. 2. Both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of legislating poor policies that negatively affect us for generations to come. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the Post Office are not doing well, they are on the verge of bankruptcy. 3. Anyone who is in the health care field understands why this reform is not going to do anything but grow the government and raise the cost of health care. Anyone who is not, thinks they know best. 4. Big government is not the solution as it is unsustainable. Government needs to be run like a business not a service, they need a reduction in force. Any company designed like our federal government would be long gone by now unless, of course, they had unlimited access to the taxpayer’s wallet. 5. Contrary to all who think that being “unenrolled” somehow prevents me from voting any way I would like, again, in my state I can. 6. Most of the absolute anger, death threats and name calling has come from the left, real

Goverment Grants 101

There is plenty of government money out there.  Thousands of programs have been created to assist the general population with anything ranging from small business start-ups to money for school.  These programs were designed with the ultimate goal of benefiting the communities we live in.  In other words, the money that is granted must be used to help improve our country.  For example, if someone wants to start a small business but does not have the funds to support it, a government grant could really help out.  Not only is the individual able to start his business, but ultimately, the establishment of a small business results in increased tax revenue for the government. It’s a win-win situation!

So, what are some other benefits to getting government grants?  For starters, grants are free and tax free! You are not required to pay them back, you are only required to use the money for its intended purpose.  There are plenty of websites dedicated to making these grants available to you.  Every year the government distributes billions of dollars in grants and some of that money could be yours!

Where does the money come from? There are a several different grant providers that fall into three main categories. One type of provider are the Private Grant Foundations. These are not government owned, but they are established by wealthy companies, trusts and individuals with the same intention of helping out individuals and small businesses. These foundations are required to distribute 5% of their yearly assets in grants to maintain their tax exempt status.  There are also Federal Programs which are owned by the US Government and just like Private Grant Foundations, they make money available to those who need it.  Attached to Federal Programs are State Programs that are run according to the needs of each of our fifty states.  This helps target individual problems for each state by making more money available for those specific issues.

There are thousands of different types of grants.  The most available grants are for education, which are also known as scholarships.  These are available to students who need help making ends meet while they obtain their degrees.  Scholarships cover housing, living essentials such as food and clothing, school supplies and, of course, tuition.

There are also personal grants that are intended for those individuals or families that are having financial trouble.  With the economy on unsteady territory, most people are having trouble paying their bills and buying essentials for their day to day life.  A grant will cover all of that and more!

Most desirable of all are the business grants.  These help get a jump-start on small businesses or help expand and improve existing businesses.  The government wants the country to flourish with new opportunities, so investing in your business is an essential part of the economy.

Those are only some of the grants available, and with some research you can find one that suits your needs specifically.  It is not an exaggeration when it is said that there are thousands of grants out there!

Applying for a grant may seem easy but there are several steps that need to be taken in order to receive one.  You must write a proposal on why you need the grant and how you will use it. There is also an involved application that needs to be filled out.  All of this may seem tedious and not worthwhile but these steps are taken in order to ensure that the free money is used fairly and that we all have an equal opportunity to receive one. Once you have been approved for one you can greatly benefit from it! The government wants the economy to prosper and wants the American people to have access to money they deserve.
